The Opportunity
We are actively seeking a highly personable and technically astute Cryptographic Risk Analyst. The ideal person for this role will have experience supporting Crypto Modernisation within NATO, the MoD, civil service, the wider armed forces or a defence organisation. You will be responsible for various tasks related to technical support. This work is located in Mons, Belgium and will suit those either already living there or willing to work within that location unencumbered. Sound like a great fit?
The Role
Your daily role responsibilities will be as follows:
  • Provide assistance in planning and implementing Alliance-wide operational contingencies as a result of delays in the delivery of Crypto Modernisation projects
  • Provide assistance in dealing with Maritime Cryptographic issues, including training, CONOPS, key management.
  • Provide support to ACO on various Crypto Modernisation related activities, as directed by the BH J6 Cyber SPP
  • Monitor the evolving cyber threat and assesses the operational impact
  • Develop and update threat based cryptographic assessments for identified risks
  • Develop the annual cryptographic risk assessment report
  • Develop recommendations for the adaptation of cryptographic services and capabilities
  • Monitor the quantum computing threat to NATO systems: developing respective assessments and produces reports
  • Develop an operational impact assessment of current and future cyber risks on NATO systems
  • Provide support to crypto modernisation related activities as required
  • Monitor the operational impact to current and future Alliance Operations and Missions
  • Ensure mitigations and corrective actions are planned and implemented
  • Implement / Monitor the integration of operational contingencies and mitigation measures
  • Prepare relevant reports to be presented to the Nations
Required Qualifications

  • Background knowledge and experience in organisation, management and support of various (international) operations, activities, units and projects related to defense, security, electronics and communications
  • Master Degrees or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering
  • Previous experience within NATO dealing with Crypto implementation and standards
  • Deep knowledge of Maritime Cryptographic issues, including training, CONOPS, key management
  • Experience with Risks Management as applied to Cryptographic and Cyber Security Fields
  • Experience in leading staff work on large and complex projects or responsible for significant
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a NATO Secret Security Clearance
